Town hall
For the first time, MSV introduced its new HOD town hall session during which participants discussed MSV governance as a core competency for ongoing relevance and success. Delegates brainstormed ways to encourage increased physician participation by making MSV and its governance structure more streamlined, accessible, responsive and timely for its members.

Educational session
This year's educational session featured Kent Bradley, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., former Deputy Commander, 30th Medical Brigade (Forward), Operation Iraqi Freedom, and James Roudebush, M.D., M.P.H., Lieutenant General, USAF (retired). They shared their experiences with team-based care dynamics and discussed how Virginia physicians could design opportunities for enhanced team dynamics in medicine to improve patient care.

Virginia Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) Manager Ralph Orr led a session on the PMP explaining why physicians should use it to identify possible drug-seeking behavior. Participants received a demonstration of how to use the PMP as a resource in patient-centered care.
