MSVPAC board accepting nominations for open seats in 2011
7 March 2011
The Medical Society of Virginia Political Action Committee (MSVPAC) is accepting recommendations for individuals from several districts to serve on its board of directors with terms beginning in October.
MSVPAC directors are elected to two-year terms and may serve two consecutive terms. The MSVPAC board is responsible for MSVPAC political fundraising activities, as well as approving contributions made to friends of medicine running for office in the Virginia General Assembly.
Physician members of the MSVPAC board must either live or work within the Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) district that they represent. The board will have vacancies in the following MSV districts:
District 1
District 2
District 6
District 8
District 10
In addition to the district seats, the MSV resident director slot on the board will be open.
Later this year, the MSVPAC nominating committee, chaired by MSVPAC Immediate Past Chairman
Rolfe White, M.D., will evaluate the nominees and forward a slate of candidates to the MSVPAC Board for approval at the MSVPAC’s meeting in conjunction with the MSV Annual Meeting at the Homestead.
